The mission of the Kentucky Employer Council is to support the interests of employers in Kentucky as they relate to the programs and services administered by the Kentucky Department for Employment Services.

Council Objectives:

	To advise the Commissioner of the Department for Employment Services on ways to promote increased utilization of Department for Employment Services' programs by employers, job seekers, and other customer groups.
	To advise and make recommendations to the Commissioner of the Department for Employment Services on ways to improve the delivery of the Department's services to employers, job seekers, unemployment insurance claimants, and the general public, and other issues pertinent to employers and the Department.
	To advise the Commissioner of the Department for Employment Services on ways to promote a spirit of cooperation and enhance communication between Kentucky's employers and the Department for Employment Services, where an appreciation and understanding of the goals and mission of each can be positively developed.
	To participate with the state job service employer committees in the United States Department of Labor's Region IV to exchange ideas and concepts relative to improvement of services provided by state employment security agencies and the United States Department of Labor.
	To communicate to the local and state council members the importance of educating their elected officials regarding employer concerns about issues and laws that will directly affect their businesses, especially in regard to the operation of the Department for Employment Services.
	To adopt and participate in projects which are considered important in accomplishing the objectives of the Cabinet for Workforce Development, the Employ Kentucky Center, the Department, and the Council.
	To advise and make recommendations to local job service employer committees in Kentucky and provide a forum for the exchange of information among them.
