Assistance can be provided to employers in the initial start-up of a new company, company expansions, seasonal hiring, or just to fill vacant positions as they occur. We can provide assistance in recruitment, testing, taking and screening applications and resumes. Local DES staff will go on site to an employer’s place of business or provide space in any of our offices for application taking, interviewing and testing. If you are an employer in need of this type of assistance contact the local Department for Employment Services Office in your area.  In Boone, Kenton and the surrounding counties call 859-371-0808 or email us at deskenton@mail.state.ky.us

     Employer Relations Representatives

The Employer Relations Representatives (ERRs) are  individuals who act as liaison between the employer and Department for Employment Services (DES) staff. The ERRs will visit your company to inform and explain to you the many programs and services offered through our agency. They can provide you with information pertaining to tax credits, labor market information, testing, Enterprise Zone, employee recruiting, setting up a special interviewing process or guiding an employer through the maze of Internet resources now available. If you would like someone to visit your company or provide informational packages contact Tim Frodge

      Unemployment Insurance

The Department for Employment Services administers the Unemployment Insurance Program in Kentucky.  The Division of Unemployment Insurance promotes economic stability by providing an income to take care of basic necessities for workers who are temporarily unemployed through no fault of their own. Benefits are paid solely from funds collected from employers as a tax on wages paid in "covered employment" or reimbursed by governmental and non-profit employers.

You may choose a specific link below, or obtain information regarding your Local Unemployment Insurance Program or go directly to the Unemployment Insurance Section on our department's state site.
